A
woman screamed of labour pains on the stretcher in the operation theatre,
setting high the heart beats of her entire family outside…..moments the prayer
was sent to the heavens on hearing the cry of a baby which soon got converted
to disappointment on hearing the doctor say-“It’s a girl”!
Quite the
trend, the elders of the family decided to kill the baby girl & soon enough
she was murdered leaving her mother devastated and craving to hold her child else
to her heart. This is what happens to most girls born. The few among them who
are lucky enough are able to survive after inconsolable crying & begging of
their mothers. These so-called lucky ones are made to work like a maid which in
their language is the training to be a good
housewife. Education, dreams and aspirations
these are like white hopes & these girls at the age of playing games they
are married to men years elder to them….
In this,
parents are of the opinion that it will secure the future of their children. But
the question is that how can a girl’s future become secured if she gets married
to a man who is 60 years of age while the girl herself is barely 14 or 15? As a
result of this, they are considered merely as an object of pleasure by her
husband and other members of the family. They are confined into the walls of a
household & the only thing expected from them is pleasing her family &
rearing and tearing of children. Even bonded slaves are in a better position
than these girls. The man will molest her at a tender age & at the same
time he will kiss death pretty soon. The girl will end up being so horrified
with the custom of marriage that she will dare not enter the institution again.
Finally,
their husbands die & even they have to end their life willingly when they
attain adulthood & jump into the fire. This shows the three phases of a
girl’s life or a journey from her birth to her death. Every phase was followed
by one or the other satanic rituals. Unfortunately these rituals are still practiced in some parts of our country
and this is the only reason why our country is still developing.
Satanic indeed! The issue discussed is abnoxious but important. I am glad to see that a young voice like yours has chosen to talk about the less talked about, very important part of our society...... Woman.
ReplyDeletePromising start, however I am sure you still believe that the walk in the rain is still possible. Congratulations
